Queen’s Blade Cattleya ‘Big Mama’ by A+ – NSFW
NOTE: This post contains content that is NSFW.
‘Big Mama’ really defines this figure which was released in March 2012, this is the second 1/2.5 scale Cattleya figure to be manufactured. This figure is larger that the 1/2.5 Taki Cattleya figure so one of them is not quite to scale, not that it really matters to me.
Cattleya is in a Z pose with her arms going back and her hands trying to hold her wind blown hair in place. The sculpting by Ryuusuke is excellent with well defined muscles throughout the figure, detailed hair and a nice joyful expression for the face. To me the large breasts are perfectly sculpted with a slight areolae perk and nipples smaller than the Taki version. Cattleya is perfectly balanced in her pose and would require some effort to cause her to tip forward or any other direction. Painting is pretty good overall except for around the toes and fingers where it is sloppily done, the skin tone is warmer than the Taki version and adds to the appeal of the figure. Casting is excellent except for around the fingers and toes which is a bit rough.
The figure comes with a cloth bikini swimsuit which is removable, a pair of glasses, two bracelets, a choker, and a beach towel.
You will probably notice the black ‘arm band’ on the right arm, this was put on to hide the crack in that location, it will eventually be replaced with something more suitable and a more detailed explanation is at the end of this post.

The face really makes this or any other figure, it’s just beautiful no matter which angle you look at her from.

The provided beach towel is a nice extra touch for this figure.

With the cloth bikini it is easy to have different type of wardrobe malfunctions, as well as removal and putting back on.

The fingers and toes could have used some more attention to detail.

Cattleya also has a nice butt to go along with her nice boobs and face, which makes for a nice figure.

- Figure arrived damaged, more about this at end of post.
- Lack of attention to toes and fingers
Conclusion:
A standout figure from A+, I really like this figure a lot which is good considering the price of this figure with shipping was $511 CDN, but arrived damaged. I put out a cautionary recommendation for this figure since the chances of getting a damaged figure is quite high.

Arrived Damaged.
The box arrived in good condition and was rather shocked to find the figure damaged inside. This is the first figure to arrive damaged and based on this post [link] this is not a rare occurrence for this figure. Considering the price this should not be happening and place the blame on A+ for poor packaging design. It looks like there was no support to keep the head in place during shipping which led to the head moving and eventually detaching resulting in chips around the base of the head. There also was not enough styrofoam thickness on the sides were the figure is placed to protect it from shocks. The area were the right arm was crushed from the inside out which resulted in the crack around the right arm. So now I’m a bit cautious about purchasing A+ figures.
